The Scene
This inn enjoys a prime location on the harbor in the 300-year-old former whaling village of Sag Harbor. It attracts a notably diverse crowd. Businesspeople come for conferences in the Hamptons or nearby Shelter Island. Leisure folk make use of the marina, immaculate outdoor pool and tennis courts. And wedding parties are known to take it over for the weekend. The motor coach crowd also likes it here, since RV parking is free.
The Details
The 66 rooms come in standard and deluxe/loft sizes, the latter of which sleeps up to six. They are clean and pretty, with bright floral bedspreads and either brick verandas or harbor-view balconies. A smart use of mirrors makes the bare-bones conference facility look larger and less confined. If you find there isn't enough character here, simply take a walk to a local coffee shop, bookstore or boutique. Nearby restaurants range from hip to homey.
