Editorial Review for Jeff & Eddy's – by Jean Tang
The Scene
Housed in a vaulted, L-shaped room, Jeff & Eddy's feels like a seafood warehouse inherited by a millionaire with good taste. The leather banquettes are plush and comfortable, and the bar has stainless steel touches that make everything streamlined and modern. Tiled and cool in summer, a gas hearth warms things up nicely in the off-season. The noise level can be high, but the staff is friendly and eager to help despite the crowds.
The Food
A lot of the catch is excellent. The combination raw bar platter, which isn't actually all raw (it includes delicate jumbo shrimp cocktail and a whole cooked lobster), is packed with sparkling-fresh jumbo clams and oysters on the half shell. The salmon--glazed with honey and grilled, then baked on a cedar plank--is done to perfection, still pink on the underside and shot through with sweetness. Don't bother with the clam chowder--it's overly thick and a little bland. And for those who don't do fish, the tender ribs are a good choice.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasThe restaurant doesn't take reservations and will refuse to seat parties that are incomplete.
What to DrinkThe wine list isn't extensive, but what's on there is selective and well-organized. Choose from 14 wines by the glass, reserve selections by the bottle and vintage reds--mostly Californian and French.
Know Before You GoThey have handy-wipes, but you've got to ask.
The ExtrasThe owners also run Sen, the always-busy sushi place just across the street.

would be even better if it was still in business! doesn't anyone check to see if Hapton's spots survive the winter?
Pros: was good while it was open
Cons: has been replaced by another incarnation of the JL chain

We have been customers at Jeff and Eddy's Seafood Resturaunt since its Grand Opening early this summer. We have found it to be a most enjoyable seafood experience. For some of us...there was love, for others there was heartache. But the staff is young and hip and ready to please. In particular a certain waiter named Jeremy and waitress named Suzanne. Oh and we can't forget Jeremy's brother. The food is great especially the clam chowder, chicken, and scod. We hope you choose and enjoy this resturaunt as much as we do!!!
Pros: Clam Chowder, The Staff, The Atmosphere
Cons: NONE, NONE, NONE
